I’ve Tried 20+ Beautycounter Products Over the Past 3 Years

I was first introduced to Beautycounter three years ago when I was pregnant with my first daughter. It was around that time that I began making wellness a priority and researching the daily products that I was using on my skin (and found out that they were loaded with chemicals 🙁 )! After learning about Beautycounter, there was one thing that really stood out to me: The Never List. It is a list of 1,800+ questionable or harmful ingredients that BC restricts in their formulations. Today, I am sharing my honest review of the Beautycounter products that I’ve tried over the years and why I decided to become a clean beauty consultant!

Hearing this quote sold me on clean beauty products: Beauty should be good for you. It’s that simple. After researching products that I’ve used my entire life, I was so blown away. WHY should we have to worry about harsh chemicals that are in our everyday products? The ones that are the most accessible (and cheapest) have some of the most toxic ingredients in them. These are the products that line our common store shelves, that we use on ourselves, our babies, and other loved ones! Since our skin in the largest organ, and these products are applied directly to our skin and absorbed into our bloodstream, it is important to be mindful about what these products are made of!

It’s unfortunate that our country is far behind when it comes to regulating ingredients found in our products.

When I saw these numbers, I realized how scary that is. And what is even scarier, in my opinion, is that many people are unaware of this. Since these ingredients are difficult to keep track of (let alone distinguish between/pronounce!), I find comfort in knowing that Beautycounter is committed to formulating ALL products without 1,800+ harmful ingredients/chemicals that are currently used in the industry.

One thing that I have heard from others is that it gets overwhelming trying to keep track of what ingredients are bad since there is so much out there. I totally get it since I’ve been there, too! Now it’s time to talk products! Below I am sharing skincare, makeup, and baby/kids products that I’ve been using consistently for years – all from Beautycounter! Since I have been using many of these products for years, I can truly say I’ve noticed a major difference in my skin’s appearance! As I’ve added to my collection, my product shelf has become beautifully crowded, but I love it. In fact, I will not travel anywhere without my BC skincare products since I cannot bear to think about not being able to use them on my skin for even just 1 day! Yes, they have left such an impact on me in a good way. These products below are seriously wonderful, & Beautycounter as a whole has amazing skincare options for ALL types of skin.

Let’s talk skincare! Here is what I’ve tried so far from the Beautycounter skincare line!

Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion – If you’re searching for a lightweight, hydrating lotion to wear each day, this is your match! It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling hydrated all day! This “best seller” adapts to your skin’s hydration levels throughout the day, and leaves your skin refreshed and radiant. I love using this before putting on my foundation each morning.
Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream – This is the nighttime version of the lotion above. I love applying this to my face and neck before heading to sleep! Similar to the adaptive moisture lotion, it protects and revitalizes your skin while you sleep.
Cleansing Balm – This stuff is unreal! I use this balm each day to wash my face both day and night. It works so well to remove makeup and is super soothing, and will not strip away your skin’s natural moisture. Bonus: it can used as a mask for a hydrating overnight facial (and, I promise, it isn’t really greasy)!
Countermatch Intense Moisture Serum – I love using this serum both morning and night before I apply my Countermatch lotion & sleeping cream. It immediately delivers a boost of hydration & antioxidants that lasts. Ever since I’ve been using it, I have noticed that my skin looks brighter and more radiant!
Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream – I have tried many eye creams over the years, and this is definitely one of my favorites. It will help keep your under eyes nourished and absorbs easily so that you can wear it under makeup!
Overnight Resurfacing Peel – This is the first peel that I have ever tried, and, wow, I can really tell the difference since I’ve been using it! I apply this every other day as part of my nighttime regimen on a clean face prior to moisturizing. It has helped remove dull surface cells, and leaves such a great glow!
Counter+ No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil – I love adding some drops of this facial oil to my moisturizer as needed (especially when the cooler months arrive)! This one is packed with Vitamin C, Avocado Oil, & Black Currant Oil to help awaken and replenish your skin. Beautycounter also has a Plumping facial oil & Balancing facial oil so that you can choose which one works best for your skin’s needs.
Body Oil in Citrus Rosemary – This blend of 13 botanical oils absorbs quickly and leaves your skin silky. It smells so good too!
Counter+ Charcoal Facial Mask – I saved one of the best for last! I think it’s safe to say that we all love a good face mask (I love including it in a self-care routine!) and this one is SO GOOD. You can really see the activated charcoal pulling out the impurities, leaving your skin balanced & calm!

When I was first introduced to Beautycounter, I tried their makeup products. I knew that I wanted to start making the switch to safer beauty products, and since I wear makeup daily, I thought it was a good place to start! For three years now, I have been using BC makeup & have never looked back. I always look forward to the release of new formulas and shades since they are always really flattering. In my opinion, Beautycounter’s goal is to enhance your natural beauty & I love that.

Here is what I’ve been using from the Beautycounter makeup line!

Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer – This is easily one of my favorite makeup items. Most days I just apply this with some mascara & lipgloss. It provides sheer coverage and protects against the sun’s damaging rays with SPF 20 mineral sunscreen (with non-nano zinc oxide that is found to be safer for our coral reefs)! There are 6 different shades available for you to choose from. I wear shade Medium.
Lengthening Mascara – I did say this was going to be an honest review, so I am going to stick with it. I tried this a while back and it was not for me. I did not notice much of a difference when I applied it. I have heard that the Volumizing Mascara is a better option. I plan to stick with my ILIA Limitless Lash mascara for now!
Color Define Brow Pencil – This pencil helps define your brows and goes on smoothly. The built-in brush wand is super convenient for blending! I love using this to fill in spots and even out color. I want to try the brow gel next!
Lip Gloss Shade Opal – Moonstone – I have always been a lip gloss girl, and this one goes on so smooth with no stickiness! It offers the most beautiful shine complete with natural vanilla flavor. It comes in so many other great colors as well!
Sheer Lipstick Shade Pearl – I recently have been getting into lipstick more, and this one has quickly become a new favorite! I use this one daily. It has a nice sheer color that complements all skin tones! I love wearing it under the Lip Gloss mentioned above. (Another favorite shade is Twig)!
Satin Powder Blush Shade Melon – I always tend to gravitate towards blush with a subtle sheen, and this melon color is a beauty! It’s a great color that you can wear all year long. I sometimes find myself wearing the Melon shade during the spring and summer months and Nectar during the fall and winter months (For a clean dupe of the beloved Nars Orgasm blush, check it out in shade Nectar!)
Touchup Skin Concealer Pen – On days that I want additional coverage, I reach for this concealer pen! The click pen brush applicator makes it easy to apply. I usually start near the inner corner of my eye and trace down the sides of my nose and also apply it under my eyes! I tend to have tired eyes and this truly helps reduce the appearance of dark circles and fine lines! I wear shade Medium 1.
Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation – This is a BC best seller! This is a great daily foundation that goes on smoothly and allows you to easily build upon it if you need more coverage (i.e. using the concealer pen)! If I want slightly more coverage than the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer that I typically wear, I’ll reach for this. And if I want to be very specific and have coverage somewhere in between the two, I will mix a little of the Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer with this Tint Skin Foundation to create a nice combo! (This works wonders too to help you find your perfect color match, too!) I wear shade Honey.

When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I became motivated to make the switch to safer beauty, so it only makes sense that I continued to choose safe products to actually use on my kids. These products are formulated without questionable ingredients, but still perform well (like all other BC products!). My kids enjoy using them, too!

We have loved using these products from the Beautycounter baby & kid collections!

Baby Daily Protective Balm – I cannot say enough good things about this balm! We have been using this household staple for years with both of our girls. It is gentle and soothing and works wonders on dry skin (and diaper rash!) And don’t let the packaging fool you, it isn’t only for babies! This balm is great for adults and children alike.
Baby Soothing Oil – This is a go-to after bath time! It is safe for newborns and up and absorbs quickly and easily without feeling greasy. I love a good bed time routine, and I feel that this helps calm babies to get them ready for a good night’s sleep!
Baby Calming Diaper Rash Cream – I am a firm believer in using diaper rash cream to prevent redness and irritation, and I love that I found this gentle one to use. It is made with safer ingredients and is sensitive-skin friendly!
Kids Bath Collection – This bath collection set includes body wash, shampoo & conditioner. My girls love having their own special products during bath time, and these ones are kid-friendly! As a mom, I love having peace of mind that the products that I use on my kids each day are safe. They can be purchased individually as well!

I have loved using my Beautycounter products over the past three years, which is why I decided to become a Beautycounter consultant!
